It is normal for school districts to have internet filters which block unknown messages. In addition, teachers often give us only their .edu email. Because of this, we receive bounce-backs from many teachers, who then wonder why they are not receiving this newsletter. I try to find/contact each person who has a bounce-back, but I have limited success. Please contact news@joanwink.com if you would like to supply a 2nd email address.

As you know, Dawn Wink, my daughter, will join me in this adventure. Denise Hurd, who maintains my WebPages, will be helping us also with the newsletter.
In this first newsletter edition, we wanted to share something very special: a transcription of an audiotape of Paulo Freire. The tape was made in 1993 in Anaheim CA when he spoke to a large gathering of CABE (California Association of Bilingual Education).
Thank you to Heather O'Hearn (HOHearn17@aol.com) for her work on the original transcription of Paulo Freire, CABE 1993. Dawn (dawn@dawnwink.com) continued with transcribing and editing.
