It is normal for school districts to have internet filters which block unknown messages. In addition, teachers often give us only their .edu email. Because of this, we receive bounce-backs from many teachers, who then wonder why they are not receiving this newsletter. I try to find/contact each person who has a bounce-back, but I have limited success. Please contact news@joanwink.com if you would like to supply a 2nd email address.

Friends, Prairie Pedagogy will not appear this month. I prepared 1/2 of this newsletter on the ranch in SD and the other 1/2 from CA. I returned yesterday from my 1534 miles commute. The final days on the ranch were bittersweet, as I left Wink and many dear friends. The day before I left, I went on a horseback ride with three of my men cousins, who had flown in from both coasts for my uncle's 90th birthday party. These cousins and I had not spent time together in decades; it was thrilling for me to be with them.
