Hello Friends,

Every month I wonder what I will share and WHY I am doing this? And, then about the time I think I have nothing for this month, it starts falling into my lap. It happened again, particularly when I started to hear about the article in Range Magazine. This may be the best of Prairie Pedagogy, so far. Great work, Dawn! Incidentally, C.J. Hadley, the publisher, has provided the permission to reprint the article here; in addition, she mentioned that she will give a 25% discount on a one year subscription for anyone who mentions my name-although I have a hunch you really should mention Dean Wink or Dawn Wink. Thank you, CJ. (Range Magazine, 1.800.726.4348)

The purpose of the web pages and the newsletter (WinkWorld) is simply to get as much up on the web as possible before I retire-knowing that you, the readers, will take what you need and generate your own learning/teaching in your own context. For example, here is an Open Letter to Credential Students http://www.joanwink.com/openletter.html, which I worked on yesterday. Also, the graduate students and credential candidates have been answering some of the questions about Critical Pedagogy, 3/e; these are questions which come in on email from classes in other states who happen to be reading the book.

As you receive this newsletter, I will be in the middle of my 1534 mile commute from CA to SD. Please think of Ginny, my faithful Labrador, and me somewhere on the windy prairies flying along, music blaring, in my 'Lil Red Chili (Saturn Vue).

In mid-June I will be at the University of Alabama, Birmingham for the MidSouth Conference. I am very much looking forward to this opportunity. Please enjoy their web pages. I have never met Dr. Maryann Manning, but she is from South Dakota, and we also share many dear colleagues in Arizona.
