ATTENTION: WinkWorld Readers RE: BOUNCE-BACKS - Check your "Junk" settings. It is normal for school districts to have internet filters which block unknown messages. In addition, teachers often give us only their .edu email. Because of this, we receive bounce-backs from many teachers, who then wonder why they are not receiving this newsletter. I try to find/contact each person who has a bounce-back, but I have limited success. Please contact news@joanwink.com if you would like to supply a 2nd email address. |
WinkWorld November 2005
Sad news from the ranch. Two of our horses, Lucky and Pepe, died of rattlesnake bites. The snakes are denning up in the prairie dog holes, and the horses must have been curious and stuck their noses in the holes. Their noses were swollen, and since horses cannot breathe through their mouths, they died. Lucky is the horse, who 'blew up" with Dean last year; since that accident, some of us have called him Bucky. He was a big, young buckskin. Pepe was the one of the grandkids' horses; they rode him a lot this summer.
