Dear WinkWorld Readers,
Through the years, I noticed that many of you enjoy the ranch stories better than anything else I post on WinkWorld. It has been busy! Recently, we spent five long days without any water in the house as the auxiliary pump in our house cistern quit functioning. This of course involves lots of plumbing, a bit of swearing, and trips to town for parts.
I hope you enjoy our recent experience.

I do believe I have a picture of my Jan in that cistern! Did they find any critters? Life on the Ranch is definitely not for the weak. GREAT WORK
XOXO

Yes, Jan was down there, too. I will look for those pix.

Now you can wash those clothes. Thank you Wink for your years of service to the land!

It is amazing how filthy clothes can get on the ranch.

Hi Joan, I always enjoy your stories about ranch life, as well as the school for rancher’s kids! I have a question about this one: How do peanuts help clear a cistern? 😉

Thanks for always reading and caring.

Did Wink ever think of hiring someone else to do this filthy job??? He is a real trooper.
I remember having a huge cistern on the farm in MN, but I haven’t thought of that since living in NV. That’s real old school!

As you know, Mary, when the pump breaks and there is no water, there certainly is no time to go find someone, somewhere to fix it. Just have to do it. And, who on earth would do it? And, where would we go to find that person?

I’ve been in that cistern with Luke. Glad everything went well & Bo was there to help. Hugs
